EPs and CD-singles from Exodus are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Real thrash metal is still alive and well, as is proven by this CD. Souza is replaced by new vocalist Rob Dukes, who has less of that snake-like hiss that Souza was known for, but is still a competant thrash vocalist. If there is one line on this album that best describes the lyrics, its "Revel and rejoice in unbridled demolition" from "Raze."

Leave it to freaking' Gary Holt to recruit fellow bay area bashers-Lee Altus(ex-Heathen) and Paul Bostaph(ex-Forbidden,ex-Slayer)to join his band-That was a very nice move! Rob Dukes angry vox compliment the band well(probably the next best thing to having Zet or Baloff fronting them)."Raze","Going Going Gone" and "Shkm" absolutely leave no doubt to whether "Exodus" were and still are the premier thrash metal band period

Brutal album with Mr Dukes doing really powerful vocals in here ...tracks 1,2,3,6,7 & 9 are in my book...85/100

Being a huge fan of Steve Souza's voice, I was very skeptical of this release. The band did a tour with the singer of Skinlab (if I recall) before settling on Rob Dukes, who was Gary Holt's guitar tech, and who had never sung in a band before. (Kinda reminds me of the story Dave Mustaine told in his book, about how he found out just before showtime that his new drummer, Shawn Drover, had never played a live gig before). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with Shovel Headed Kill Machine. It's true Dukes is kind of a generic shouter, but he doesn't detract from the songs at all, and lends them an appropriately brutal feel. The riffs are just NASTY, alll the way through, and while several songs are quite long, "Deathamphetamine," for example, never feels like it's eight and a half minutes long. It's my favorite song, along with all the first half, "Going Going Gone" and the title track.
