Dimmu Borgir have raised the bar for all black metal bands with this record. Was the bar so high that they can't top this record? Well, see when they release their next record...

Dimmu Borgir have reached a new level of brilliance with this album, having produced what will probably turn out to be one of the best respected neo-black metal albums ever. This said, i feel the need to pose a question as to where Emperor are supposed to fit into the black metal genre on this website. Emperor are a band of sheer brilliance, and if you like this stuff you should really check out some Emperor. not so much melodic stuff, far more evil. you'll like it.

they lost thier tradition in black metal. The early works are wierd and raw than the new one.

Silly Dummy Burger can go to hell! Not even real, or good black metal...

A lot of black-metal purists hate this and for moving out of the garage and making something ambitious and grandiose. Andgrandiose is an understatement. What can I say/I dig it, and I'd take tDeath Cult Armageddon any day over that lo-fi bullshit like Darkthrone.
