An okay album...Not the best sound but their first couple of classics are included here...Some cool tracks too like "Dreamer Deceiver" where they start their Astral- Plane-thing...Their sound really develops here & they say you'll feel drawn towards suicidal thoughts listening to that weird stuff...Hahaha

From: Fat Freddy Date: September 9, 2003 at 8:55
"Victim Of Changes". Enough said.

From: Kim HP Date: October 9, 2003 at 22:21
Another classic Priest album! 'Tyrant', 'Victim of Changes' and 'The Ripper' are the best tracks.

Sad Wings' is a classic all the way. "Forbidden" used to do a killer version of "Victim Of Changes".-----Just noticed that "Motorhead" are nowhere to be found on this site, that is just asinine !

Well Metal T, if you own some Motorhead CDs, feel free to use the "Add CDs" link on the left-hand side of the page to submit them to Brutal Metal...otherwise stop complaining....

More important for what it did for metal music than actual quality, this album kicked off a new sound of metal. Tracks like "Victims Of Changes" and "The Ripper" are the classics and the rest is hit and miss. 7/10

Sad WIngs of Destiny is the BEST, Judas Priest Started of strong and continued to get better... what a great beginning with "Victim of changes", i love playin it on the guitar, "The Ripper" has some Killer lyrics and power from the guitars! I can't leave of "Tyrant" what a great song!!!! If You Like Preist, Check out some Early Slayer, Motorhead, Black Sabbath (ozzy or Dio years), Dio, Iron Maiden, and Iced Earth.

This is Classic Priest!!! It's not a Modern Metal Sound, but the songs kill!!This is when Priest started to get their sound down!! Has a bluesy vibe!!10/10

From: metal rulz Date: December 21, 2004 at 22:45
This is where they began with the heavy stuff! Includes classics such as "Victim Of Changes", "The Ripper", and "Tyrant"...simply good!

From: Jimbo Date: February 2, 2005 at 19:59
This album is considered by many to be the beginning of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Along with Iron Maiden and (to a much lesser extent) Def Leppard's "On Through the Night", the stage was set for the influx of highly ratcheted, tightly constructed and wickedly complex song structures that decades later would give us Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and the rest. Not their best CD, but one any burnt out punter should own. It's a piece of history, and it rocks to boot!

From: Painkiller Date: June 10, 2005 at 5:46
This is Priest's second best album, the first best being Painkiller of course. Victim of Changes, The Ripper, Dreamer Deceiver, and Island of Domination could make me listen to this album over and over again. 9.5/10

From: KISS Date: August 31, 2005 at 5:57
Much better album than the debut with awesome all out rockers like the ripper, genoicide and of course, the frantic opener, victim of changes (which riffs bears striking resemblence to metallica's seek and destroy which suggest some influnce on metallica's song). Even the ballad, dreamer deceiver has enough emotion and POWER to make this record a classic. That said, this prove to a lot of doubter nowadays that said heavy metal does not exist in the 70's. Hmm?

From: KISS Date: August 31, 2005 at 6:04

In agreement with Scandinavia's comment..."Victim Of Changes","Dream Deceiver/Deceiver","Tyrant","Genocide" & "Island Of Domination" are my faves...80/100

From: hair metal again Date: May 8, 2018 at 4:23
very good 2nd step for the young JUDAS PRIEST somehow creating a heavier sound and those high octane vocals that led things into the heavy metal music!"victim of changes" and "the ripper" are classics and overall an interesting album that set things for what was about later on

From: Doug Date: July 9, 2019 at 21:33
IMO, the album that started their greatness.
