Excepting the live tracks, this is a CLASSIC from beginning to end. BC plays pounding mid-'80's Heavy Metal with explicitly Christian lyrics & great vocals. Mike Lee could take off & soar! By comparing the recorded to the live songs, one can see BC changing styles from the hook-laden metal with operatic vocals to Power Metal. 'Rock for the King' introduced me to Barren Cross. It was their best output in my opinion & the only CD of theirs I've held onto.

Just what the dismally overclogged arteries of Metal needed,(NOT). Need I even tag this one 'For collectors only'? My copy of this album has them standing on the front cover in white & Blue rags. Whas Up?

BC's debut was influenced by classic metal bands like early Queensryche and Iron Maiden. The music is melodic & heavy and contains some killer hooks, yet it's not overtly commercial. I remember bringing this one into my dorm room years back & playing it for my friends. Many of them thought it was awesome until I broke the news to them that it was a Christian band. The disc above is the crappy remix by Montrose, the original mix is better. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/barrencross.htm

Barren Cross is one of my all-time favorite bands, and this album started it all. Blazing guitars and Mike Lee's truly awesome signature vocals. Fantastic band!!!

Pienso que es una buena banda de metal, muy parecida a Iron Maiden. I think it s a good metal band. They play like Iron Maiden. It s a good CD.

Not quite as good as Atomic Arena, but it's definitely up there.
