If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Brutal Metal forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Edguy CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Brutal Metal as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Edguy are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Five new songs and a generous sampling of older material. This is a good compilation for someone like me, who doesn't have a huge interest in the band but doesn't know which single album is the best representation. (Same way I feel about Hammerfall). Also like Hammerfall, it's difficult to know just how seriously to take this band. Edguy play a style of stirring, anthemmic power-metal, with flashy guitars and yelping vocals. The lyrics are almost always cheesy and stupid, mostly in the fantasy realm of kings and wizards and crowns and swords. But then they add in the occasional juvenile sex tune ("Lavatory LLove Machine") to go along with music that retains more than a pinch of hair-metalness. And, just like Hammerfall (Edguy are kinda like Hammerfall Lite), I like most songs I've heard at least a little bit, but feel no need to venture beyond this compilation--especially not into one of their nerdy concept albums.
