Great epic metal. Nothing on this CD like Number of the Beast or Run For the Hills but if you like Maiden's longer epic songs, this is their best work since the mid 80's

a very good album and one of my maiden favorites. kick ass songs like 'no more lies'and 'face in the sand'.

There are some O.K. songs, but what makes Maiden is Steve's lyrics. I feel blasphemous to say Steve has slipped a little. Thanks to the others stepping up to save the album with Montesgur and Pashendale. These are true Maiden songs.

Maiden fans love the album covers. This one is a let down. Ed as the reaper cool. The rest sucks! Forgive me guys.

From: MaidenWV Date: May 4, 2004 at 11:28
While I'm blaspheming, The song Wildest Dreams is sell-out radio friendly crap! Never thought they would do such shit

From: Fog-hat Date: May 7, 2004 at 13:33
I found the album to be a little weak and maybe the worst Iron Maiden/Dickinson disc. However, (here we go!) compared to the Nu-metal out there, this is an epic masterpiece. If you are planning on buying your FIRST Iron Maiden album I would suggest either the old "Number of the beast" CD or the fairly new "Brave New world" to get you started. Buy this one later.

I've been with Maiden music for about 20 years now but I have to say that this is really the worst album they've ever done! Where is the time of Powerslave or Seventh...????? Comparing this CD with Maiden' Blaze Bayley era ... there is no doubt I would better prefer to buy some of those than this one my friends!!!! Cheers, Denis of HAMMERHEART www.hammerheart.sk

It's OK - at least they don't use all the synth stuff like in Somewhere In Time...The album cover is kinda weak too. Eddie as the reaper is pretty cool though. I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

From: MaidenMan Date: June 29, 2004 at 18:01
I used to love Maiden until this album, but I have to admit that they suck now. Bruce lost his voice!!!

From: Big Papa K Date: July 1, 2004 at 17:56
Not a big fan of the production here, but at least they stopped that annoying repeat of the chorus for some of these tunes. But this is an enjoyable release. 8/10

From: METALDEFENDER49 Date: July 3, 2004 at 13:12

From: Ikeda Date: July 27, 2004 at 18:24
Iīm chocked with some ridiculous comments here. Some people expect a TNOTB pt. II, and these people are going to be eternaly disappointed, because Maiden isnīt "Caught Somewhere In 80īs".Dance of Death is Maidenīs 6th best album.

From: Metal T Date: August 17, 2004 at 21:43
Maiden' as six-piece are a joke. One too many guitar players around here guys.So i guess its -See ya Janick ...Leave the triple axe attack to old "Leatherwolf" .

From: Steve Date: August 31, 2004 at 9:22
A return to form for good old maiden!! A great album indeed! Memerable songs and great guitar work!! keep it up Maiden!!

From: Steve Date: September 6, 2004 at 3:36
Man, this album is as good as their older stuff (well...very,very close...)!! The songs are so memorable!! The best songs are Wildest Dreams, Rainmaker, New Frontier and Journeyman!! In fact, every song is awesome (the ones i listed are the standout ones though)!!

From: Blayde Date: December 22, 2004 at 22:58
Amazing album. Their best effort in a long LONG TIME. Almost every song on here kicks ass. Buy this if you love metal!

From: Black Angel Date: December 28, 2004 at 14:17
Fucking good cd, they began to kick asses and they still, they will alway still! Very very good album

From: Been Date: May 3, 2005 at 16:30
Maiden have always been and will always be a great band; but what amazes me most is that they keep getting better. Dont give me your nostalger crap, musically this is their best cd yet. The chordal progressions are the only thing that's let them down in the past, and its nice to hear them not writing all their songs in E/D. Surely its the musical skills that attract us to maiden. And if thats the case then this is their finest. If thats not the case then your listening for the wrong reason!

From: Brice Date: August 1, 2005 at 0:25
Anyone who says this album sucks is not a real Iron Maiden fan.

From: Luis DUarte Date: September 15, 2005 at 12:04
I think this is their best work since 7th Son , but i must agree that the guitars sound a bit mixed sometimes.in the older maiden albuns it was easy to tell what each guitarist was doing , now itīs impossible. janick is a great player but 2 is enough for maiden .

From: pie75 Date: September 5, 2010 at 5:51
what's all the negative comments about this album? i thought this was better then brave new world and more in line with the older maiden as i said stop rating them against number of the beast
