VR have a new lease on life; heavy modern metal riffs, speedy guitar solos and mid-range aggressive vocals. Songs like the title track and Born-Again Hard are mid-paced heavy metal numbers which need no other label. Other tracks, like Puritan Demons are fast and heavy touching a style of speed metal that is rarely played by today's metal bands. I am glad that Thorpe got the alternative bug out of him and returned to playing the style of music we all want from VR, balls-to-the-wall heavy metal!

Of the post non-Carl releases this is the best one.Former Megaton Blonde/High Treason singer Morgan Thorn doesn't sound much like Carl Albert at all but gives a solid, spirited performance on this thing.Worth the price of admission alone for 'Break' and the awesome 'Blacklight'.Would also recommend the 'Megaton Blonde' release on the Retrospect label.
