Vicious Rumors is an album that cannot be placed into one specific category in the metal spectrum. The many influences heard throughout the album are best described as honest, traditional metal, pure and simple. Geoff Thorpe and Mark McGee add layers of aggressive riffs and climactic solos without overindulgence. Their leadwork is clean and fluid; flashy one moment, melodic the next."On The Edge" and "Hellraiser" border on the side of speed metal and "Ship Of Fools" has a majestic "Dio" vibe

Ugyan még nem hallottam a lemezt -kivéve a Don't wait for me-t-,de ez a nóta egyszerűen tökéletes!Tiszta sallangmentes METAL kidolgozott király riffekkel brilliáns szólókkal ( Geoff,Mark forever!!)Mindenáron megszerzem a teljes anyagot a 85',88',87',94',01'cd-k mellé!

For me, This album is right up there with Master Of Puppets. Great melodic thrash-esque power metal. And Carl Albert is a god.

This album is an absolute classic, for whatever reason this cd was always, and has always been rather hard to find, which is kind of mind boggling, seeing it was on a major label, and should have had wide production and distrubution, this was the pinnacle disc for VR, working their way away from the seas of faceless thrash bands pummeling the world at the time, and coming up with their own Vicious(no pun)sound, that brought a thrash vibe into a heavy metal chamber, it was not power metal, not by definition anyways, it was not thrash at all, what it was, Heavy Metal taking off into an unexplored direction, and on top of a blistering dual guitar attack, having a full album of pitch perfect songs, and one of the greatest vocalists in history, this was as close to perfect Heavy Metal as history may ever get, by some stroke of luck, it never fell into the intended targets ears, and sadly history missed it, If you get the chance, DO NOT MISS THIS! you will regret it.
