BULLSHIT. This cd doesn't even sound like heavy metal. 'Battle Hymns'--for the most part--totally sucks. Manowar has improved so much throughout the years it is mind-boggling. What a load of horse-shit people throw on you telling you 'oh, the 1st was their best' or 'the band isn't as good as they once were'. FUCK THAT!!! Manowar sucked on their 1st few albums. But that's okay; they had to start somewhere. 'Warriors Of The World' conquers over this experimental early day horse-piss. People lie...

This is not the band's best album. Nowhere near it in fact. The production is terrible and, incredibly, got even worse on Into Glory Ride. The band never started properly, imo, until Hail To England.

Gran debut, pero no son los Manowar de ahora, basta con ver el año del disco, para ese gran True Metal había que esperar un poquito.

I bought this CD expecting to be heaps awesome, and i loove their stuff (from Kings of Metal onwards), so i decided to give THIS a try, and, well it wasnt the worst thing i have ever heard, its just that it WASNT BLODDY METAL DAMMIT. Calling this 'metal' is like saying ACDC are Nu-Metal! The last 2 tracks are the best tracks, so thats a plus, but y do they talk about Nam in this album!! I prefer the fantasy and dragon slaying lyrics. I ended up swapping this for Testaments 'The New Order'.

True, not MANOWAR's best album, but the best was yet to come. They were new at this time, they got better after this release. But it still has good songs.

Give the band the rightful place in metal history...Born in 1980, they approached the metal scene with identity, integrity, and nothing short of determination. Sure the first album lacked the sound MANOWAR needed for their type of music. That is why it sounds so distant and flat. Surely you can all agree that the band and all it's members are virtuoso's. Regardless, most metal historians agree that this album is considered a milestone in HEAVY METAL. p.s. If this is not your bag man...FUCK YOU!

From: METALMANDAN Date: July 6, 2005 at 10:36
THIS ALBUM WAS SENSATIONAL WHEN IT WAS RELEASED 23+ YEARS AGO . NOTHING LIKE IT HAD BEEN HEARD, BECAUSE OF MANOWARS EARLY EXPERIMENTATION AND WILLINGNESS TO PUSH THE LIMITS THEY ALONE INSPIRED POWER METAL BANDS ALL OVER THE WORLD; THIS IS TRUE HEAVY METAL, AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT WEANERS, FUCK BACK OFF TO THE DISCO. LISTEN TO METALLICAS FIRST 3 ALBUMS THEY ARE CRAP BUT THEY HAD MAJOR LABEL BACKING FORCE FEEDING THAT TRIPE DOWN WEANERS THROATS, LIKE YOU YOUNG WEANERS WITH LINKIN PARK NOW.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 18, 2018 at 23:00
...and this is where all began. For me the next efforts are far better than this debut but is because undoubtebly the guys of the band started to show their music skills on the way...tracks # 4,5 & 8 are the ones for me.83/100

From: hair metal again Date: April 15, 2019 at 6:01
very good debut for MANOWAR showing that they re unique in what they do and as i read before they liked pushing things to the extreme!raw and plain in musicianship ,it makes the perfect sound to Eric Adams to introduce himself to the masses!some classics here like "battle hymn" and "metal daze"
