Thor - great. The eternal curse. Mountains - brilliant. 10 - never live your life for other people. Guyana - read history don't be duped by false promises and easy solutions.

I've got nothing against Manowar. After all, there should be music for girls. And people with lots and lots of pimples. I mean come on people, just listen to this stuff. "Thor" is probably the most embarrasingly bad song in history. "Guyana" is 2nd worst. The lyrics! How can anyone hear them and not immediately cringe or burst into laughter? Are all manowar fans like 11 years old? Claiming that WoManowar is the greatest metal band ever only destroys any musical credibility you could ever have.

it seems like Manowar are one of that bands you either love or hate. I am one of the rare people that actually think they´re just OK while not fantastic. Well, this is to me their best CD, I know few of their material, and I think is just OK Metal ( If we could tell abouch such new genre of Metal, " OK Metal" ) and by no means the KiNGS OF METAL that some people name them. Hail To England is another good album to check out but nothing I´d say as " essential" .

man fuck that shit it's all about metallica the greatest heavy metal band ever they have one of the greatest guitarist to ever walk this fucking earth all these bands suck they all sound the same metallica never did thy are the gran daddy's of them all and led zpplin were not heavy meatal they were pussy metal metallica was oh my fucking god loud and fast they are the best ever fucking dumb fucks shit.

Sorry, manowar fans out there but i think manowar's song lyrics are quite childish and lame. Judas priest and iron maiden is much better by far!And andres, for your information, metallica is a thrash metal band, not a heavy metal band and led zeppelin being pussy metal?well,if there are no led zeppelin, metallica probably would not even exist! Hair metal and 80's hard rock is the best!

Most people just don't get it, do they. Manowar is just pure 'FUN' to listen to. They are 'different' and I love that. Rock on Manowar and please keep it 'cheezey'!

From: Muchman Date: August 27, 2004 at 12:47
This CD just doesn't sound right, has a hollow sound to it. Must have been recorded in the same studio as Heart's "Bebe la strange" album. However, just like "Bebe" it grew on me and is now a favorite. 'Mountains' remains one of my favorite top 10 Manowar songs.

From: eddie rocker Date: November 20, 2004 at 19:27
My favorite from this one is SIGN OF THE HAMMER. I believe this had a commercial touch. But MANOWAR is one band that never sold out, never dissapoints, and always play to kill!

From: Jamie Pick Date: June 4, 2005 at 17:28
Someone in an earlier post said thor had cheezy (typical chav/Yankee word) lyrics, but Thor is one of the best lyrical songs ever. Any Metallica fan out there should know that at least they sing about something different and not about death and pain all the time, as metallica do.. You just get back to your texas trucker and let the Europeans show you how its done.

Saludos. 9.5/10

manowar has always polarised opinion you love them or you hate them i think they're great sure there's some silly lyrics but the music part is quite sound you don't take manowar serious they remind me of the darkness in that regard (not musicaly) that they're just fun i like this album for it's time maybe aged a bit though all men play on 10 funny stuff and thor are good as i said people you don't take them serious

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 21, 2015 at 10:02
Manowar here had a different approach in their music than in their previous releases with a bit less of its epic feel and more "mature" if i that can be said...tracks 1,2,5,6 & 8 are very good ones indeed...86/100

From: hair metal again Date: May 11, 2019 at 8:26
excellent release and kinda of unique that set MANOWAR as pioneers of what we call epic metal!every tune sounds so fresh and true and the music sounds flawless !"mountains" is a great song and so are "all men play on ten","guyana" and "thor"!essential for heavy metal fans
