| I confess I grew indifferent over the past few years as the Anthrax camp dripped out a slow stream of talk about writing and recording songs that never seemed to materialize. For All Kings was a good album, but one I just didn't feel a strong connection with for a long time, and as it got smaller and smaller in the rearview, I got used to the idea of a world without Anthrax. But I'm glad that world isn't here yet, because Cursum Perficio is a terrific album, the best of the Belladonna-part-two years. This guy is in his mid-60's and sounds fantastic, maybe not as piercing with the high notes as 40 years ago, but instantly recognizable. Nobody else sounds like Anthrax with Belladonna, and they've brought the most consistent batch of songs since Sound Of White Noise. It's not full-tilt thrash all the way, and by now you shouldn't expect that, but songs like "The Long Goodbye," "It's For The Kids," "Everybody's Got Plan," "NYC 93," "Watch It Go" and "My Victory" sound so alive and energize

| ... enwerizeed, it just makes you happy. Production is outstanding as well, as there's really no excuse for it not to be in 2026, with Charlie's inventive drumming, Frank's clanking bass, and Scott's trademark grinding guitar tone all clearly audible. And Jon Donais is a great addition to the band (I've been a fan since the Shadows Fall days). This is a lock for my top-ten list for the year, which I had thought was just about full by early summer, but what the hell—always room for one more!
