Consistent. Not as accomplished as Nightfall but still a memorable album. The songs are still heavy and doom laden but it does not reach the standards of the previous album. "Ancient Dreams" is a great song and "Darkness In Paradise" is gloom at its best. The band sounds tight and Messiah Marcolins vocals are outstanding. There is nothing suprising on this album for those familiar with Nightfall. It is a powerful album from an underrated band.Candlemass is still highly regarded in doom metal.

My first early Candlemass CD and it's great. I now see why this one is a considered a classic doom album. I plan on getting their other two classics 'Nightfall' and 'Tales of creation' soon. Can't wait.

Great Band! Monster Album !The 3 records that Candlemass did with Messiah Marcolin' easily blow away most of the doom ever to come out(including much of the stuff Sab' ever did).A unique, heavy, dramatic and all around killer band, fortunately these guys will unleash yet another dose of Doom' this spring. The masses do not appreciate C'mass, that is fine--if you don't get it,you are best served to leave it alone . ----

"Mirror Mirror" is one of the band's iconic songs as we all know...tracks 2,3,7 & 9 are also good pieces of Doom Metal, definitely these guys are the kings of the genre.82/100
