| Told a girlfriend how great Celtic Frost was so she went out and bought this CD.Big mistake!! She bitched at me and gave me the CD cause it sucked. Now I'm stuck with 2 of the damn things!!!

| one of the best trash/metal releases that year!really like the new commercial approach that many metal bands were forced to take due to the success of commercial hard rock that ruled the planet at the time!havent heard anythin else from CELTIC FROST but this is very artistic and the musicianship is excellent!highly recommended if you want your heavy metal in the mainstream !

| This is the sound of Celtic Frost following, not leading. Earlier albums like Morbid Tales, To Mega Therion and Into The Pandaemonium were (and still are)hugely influential on the black-metal scene. Cold Lake and Vanity/Nemesis influenced nothing and no one. On top of that, chasing trends didn't help the band cross over to mainstream success either. They had some very minor MTV success with "Cherry Orchards" off Cold Lake, but longtime fans hated it, and those new to the band didn't know what to make of it. Ultimately, Celtic Frost's attempt at becoming more "accessible" failed. It's not a terrible disc, as they try to retain some of ttheir Celtic Frost-ness, but the band had clearly lost their way and were bowing to pressures to conform.

| finaly some good stuff came out of this so called black metal outfit,im my opinion early works are basic and badly played,i mean look at at the solo guitar work from cold lake...well this album gives plenty of good songs,tracks 1 and 2 are great, heavy ,fast and very well writen,just take a peak at the guitar work from nemesis intro,the whole album rank in a very high level,with a standart aproach to riffs similar to testament,metallica,and megadeth early works...nice job guys
