Brutal Metal forum/message board.
The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you
notice that a particular Machine Head CD release or compilation is missing
from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page.
The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Brutal Metal
as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live
compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official
CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Machine Head are also welcome to be added, as
long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

After fans and critics almost unanimously hailed Machine Head's last release, The Blackening as a long overdue return to form, the band followed it up with another album in a similar vein. Immediately noticeable is the length of the songs, with just seven tracks taking up almost 49 minutes. The Blackening also included some really long songs, but here Robb's ambitions are beginning to overrun his abilities a bit, like on the overlong intros to the first and last tracks. (My hard-and-fast rule is "no kids' choirs!") But this won't really be a problem until the next album Bloodstone And Diamonds. The only real clunker here is "Darkness Within," which is basically a Stone Sour ballad, Robb doing his best Corey Taylor "brooding guy" voice.
