The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Slipknot CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Brutal Metal as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Slipknot are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

People make fun of slipknot because they wear masks. So if they took them off would they still be the no talent weiners you think they are or would they become good in your books?I don't care if you love them or hate them because i like them and in canda its fuckin hard to get any other good metal band cds unles you order them from the net. No Cool.Its great that you like them. But bands like Slipnot will always have a problem with the critics. Ive seen them give interwievs here. Theyre so goddamn hostile, that peoble cant stand them.I tried to listen to them, but I really dont like them. Kiss had masks in the beginning. So that has been done before. You all just need to get over yourselves. Slipknot is a good band, especially thier first cd, but once you hear the speed of a good death metal band or a black metal band such as Marduk or Nile, maybe even a good sludge metal band like Crowbar you will just have to leave Slipknot behind. And the guitar solos are awesome in most death metal, but do you hear that in Slipknot's music? NO! Just look around and find what you like,like I did when I found myself wanting something heavier.

No comments in ten years. Reading back through the old ones is so funny. It's just comical, the rage (and abysmally poor spelling) this band brought out in people on both sides of the issue. And now? Nobody really cares that much. Who are the new punching-bag bands? Black Veil Brides? I'm gonna be 35 this year, I guess I haven't kept watch on who the big scapegoats in metal are currently--a young man's game, maybe. Anyway, if you have to have one Slipknot album in the collection, it should be Iowa. It's their heaviest and jangriest disc, for sure. Slipknot took the DJ-scratching, seven-string guitars and rap-like delivery of nu-metal, injected a near-fatal dose of steroids and jcombined it all with the ferocity of thrash and death-metal. Back in 2001, anything that wasn't the second coming of Maiden or Priest was crucified by the old guard in the peanut gallery, but truly, Slipknot weren't that terrible. weak link in the sound is Corey Taylor, who sounds like a bad Robb Flynn both when he bellows all-out and when he tries to sing. Jordison is a madman on the drums, and the guitarists are good, but since they play in a style that doesn't rely on Malmsteen-like noodliness, many assumed they couldn't play (see about half the above comments). It's all wrappedin layers of weird noises, and the whole thing has an air of mental instability. Calll it nu-metal if you want, but Korn, Coal Chamber and jthe rest never sounded this over-the-top. Best songs for me are "People = Shit," "Disasterpiece," the more melodic single "Left Behind" and the nightmarish (and very long) title track.
