To me, Children of Bodom are a good "gateway drug" into extreme metal. Yes, the vocals are harsh, but not the gurgly, grunts of true death metal, or the raw rasp of black metal. Any COB disc is guitar heaven, and the guitars are always shredding, without being overly self-indulgent, and most songs are catchy despite their brutality. What COB has that so many other extreme-metal bands don't is ... a sense of FUN! Even with the dark themes and over-the-top aspects of their sound, they give the impression they're just a bunch of wacky Finns having a blast, and for all the new-millennium extremity, they tap into a classic, '80's sense of headbanging, party-hearty glee. The highlights on this disc (whicch even has a bit of an '80's drum sound) would be the title track, "Every Time I Die," "Bodom After Midnight," and hey, how much fun is it to holler, "I don't give a fuck if you HATE ME!"

Decent album with some good songs in it such as 3,4,5,7,8,9 & the fantastic Wasp cover "Hellion"(a B/T not included here on the list as the first print of this album didn't have it,it was included in another edition)...80/100
