I HATE DEATH METAL VOCALS! So why do I like Children of Bodom? The mix of death vocals and rapid fire Power metal music works! While I like their "Something Wild", "Follow the Reaper" and "Hate crew deathroll" CD's better than this one it is still a find album. If you HATE death metal vocals but love power metal you may want to give this band a spin. Fans of 'In Flames' and 'Entombed' may like this band.

Not a big fan of death metal, but this is a very solid release. Somewhat repetitive, though.

Children of Bodom is the greatest band of all time. I use to hate Death/Black Metal vocals until I heard COB. Oh, and just so you all know, Children of Bodom never coverd The Final Countdown.

This is a flawless album!! Although the vocals are extremely aggresive, the music is so melodic it boarders on classical!! This is a must-have album for fans of In Flames and Yngwie Malmsteen.

I admit I'm not as big on the first two Bodom discs as I am on their prime era in the aughts. They just seem to lack a bit of the catchiness that would come to mark the band's personality. However, there are still some COB classics found within, including "Warheart," "Silent Night, Bodom Night," and the band's namesake song. But the best song, hands down, is their traditional set-closer "Downfall." Just a monster track, and a prime example of how Janne Wirman's keys added such a unique flavor to the band and were every bit as important as Alexi's guitar gymnastics.
