Truly a classic, I wore this sucker out back in the day. Considering when it was released, this was freakin' heavy stuff!

We all know how great this band is, but really, this debut is not the classic everyone says it is. Tracks like "Black Sabbath", "The Wizard", and "N.I.B." were the blueprint for heavy metal, but the rest is jsut average. 7/10

From the "evil-fied" album cover to the down-tuned guitars to the wall of sludge production values... Black Sabbath the album virtually created Heavy Metal. Forget bluesy Zeppelin or luded out Steppenwolf. Toni Iommi stomped them into a messy pulp with just the first three notes of the first song on the first side of this, Sabbath's first album. If you are a fan of any of the dozens of heavy metal offshoots, then you should thank Tony, Ozzy, Bill and Geezer for paving the way. Hale the Kings!

prayers must be said for the soul of black sabbath, which got ripped apart and incinerated in the fièry depths of hell the moment ozzy got kicked out. enough of that, though. for now is the time for memories of the greatest band ever to exist upon the lords green earth.truly this album is the first creation. a masterpeice that even the ravishes of ten million years can not, and WILL NOT, destroy or forget.worship ozzy, for he is truly a god among mortal men. dont listen to me, btw. i am drunk.

Classic debut album from the legendary Sabbath, what an introduction with the opening title track, NIB is still excellent, I`ve played this so many times for 30 years or so but all the songs still sound great.
