A great album! The one that started it all. I bought this record as a new release in high school and it ruled my life for a looooong time. Whiplash, Motorbreath, Seek & Destroy...this is as classic a thrash CD as you can get.

the video for "Whiplash" is the best, so much energy, if you have't seen it, take a peak!!

Metallica's finest hour! This is what thrash metal should sound like. This CD earned itself a place in heavy metal history. This record spawned a generation of thrash clones and wannabees that all managed to become successful, while the truly talented thrashers stayed underground! (See Annihilator, Annacrusis, Watchtower, Dark Angel, Sadus, Ultimatum, Vengeance Rising, Deathrow, Accuser, Devastation, Whiplash, etc. )

Have you asked yourselves WHY this album was so good? That's all thanks the legendary musicman (he made all this stuff!)called DAVE MUSTAINE!!!!!!!!!! He's better alone than these 4 idiots that kicked him away. They really didn't deserve all the glory they had..

From: GLAM FAN Date: April 18, 2005 at 7:41
Motorhead or venom may have created thrash earlier but to be frank, metallica's kil em all help perfected speed metal and lay the ultimate gateway for other great speed(testament, sepultura, overkill) and death metal bands(morbid nagel, seven churches). It also lay the pathway fro the glorious ride the lightning and the invincible master of puppet. An essential album for any metalhead!

From: EMI Date: April 30, 2005 at 11:25

From: EMI Date: April 30, 2005 at 11:30

From: Richierocker Date: May 6, 2005 at 22:47
They rewote a lot of Mustaines solos and some lyrics. I know Jmaes rewrote Jump in the fire becauseDave's wasnt that good. Also Kirk Hammett changed up the solos and from reports made them better and more melodic.

From: mustaine Date: May 11, 2005 at 23:48

From: mauricio Date: September 6, 2005 at 13:18

From: juan carlos Date: December 13, 2006 at 16:15
Salvo ese mediocre canción llamada "Jump in the Fire" todas son imprescindibles. R.I.P Cliff!! 9/10

From: rockhardrock Date: August 26, 2010 at 5:47
there were(are) much more technically thrash metal bands, but still metallica moved thrash metal to almost mainstream popularity.this album is one of my favs of thrash metal subgenre. my favs: whiplash, the four horsemen and jump in the fire

From: pie75 Date: September 7, 2010 at 9:08
a great album better production then megath's debut but clearly you can hear dave's influence and sound all through this kirk was never a better guitarist then dave he's ok but more of a poser and half wit to boot but i love the four horseman, jump in the fire and seek and destroy

From: rick kerch vzla Date: July 11, 2016 at 19:22
...And here is where the story begins...a band that has changed through the years, with right and wrong steps on its way but that undoubtebly has achieved the recognition deserved to be considered one of the best metal acts in the history of music...best tracks for me in here are 1,4,6,7 & 8...simply a blasting Record...87/100

From: Doug Date: December 7, 2016 at 17:27
Listening to this today, you can hear the youthful energy of this great band.
