A further refinement of the sound started on Ride, to me though it's a little less bone-crushing than the previous release. Battery and Master of Puppets are probably my favorite tracks. Still 1000X better than anything released after Justice...

Man Cliff Burton shines big time on this one and so does every memebr on this album. I think this is the last album that had 'heart'. They were hungry and played like fuckin animals on this one. Most consider this their best album. The riffs are legendary as usual, and I dont thin they recaptured the vibe after Cliffs death after this album but that my opinion.

I'm not really a metallica fan, i always got bored by their music, but if you wanna buy something from these guys, you better choose this one. This is the only one worth listening 2 from metallica. But again, thats my opinion.

This album flat-out ROCKS!!!!! Damage Inc. is definitely, without a doubt my all-time favorite song! Man, that riff just gives me an adrenaline rush every time I hear it!

THIS IS METALLICA's MASTERPIECE & MY FAVORITE. EVERY SINGLE SONG FUCKIN' KICKS ASS!!! A+

the 100% thrash cd of the band. the speed and the slow are good .. the burton era dies with this cult classic of metal. this is the point of beginning a multi clones into thrash style.

In my opinion, this is the best heavy metal album ever made and it will be doubtful that a band can top this. The format follows the last album (the intros to the first song, second song is the title track). This one is better as even with the songs being longer, they never get boring at all and the band is playing their best they ever did. Best songs include 'Leper Messiah', 'Welcome Home', and the best song by the band, 'Master Of Puppets'. An album every music fan should own. 10/10

Forbidden's 'Forbidden Evil' blows Puppets' away big time ! --------

From: Richierocker Date: July 18, 2004 at 3:05
Classic! Notihng compares to this , nothing. everything you would want in a metal album is right here.

From: petelovesthe M Date: August 13, 2004 at 7:58
killer shit dude i cant believe cliff died after this albumb he was there best bassist and it would have been kirk if kirk lost the card game R.I.P cliff and keep rocking metallica!

From: Richierocker Date: August 21, 2004 at 12:03
Masterpiece. Hetfield and Hammett make a statement as probaly one of the best if not the best guitar tandem ever. Like I siad in a previous statement everything you would want in a metal album is right here.

From: Richierocker Date: August 22, 2004 at 20:52
Disposable Heroes is one of the most underrated songs Metallica has ever done. Complete metal mastery with all 4 guys playing in unison. Doesnt get any better than this.

From: jason (FA-Q) Date: August 28, 2004 at 23:25
it's tough for me to think that the band we know as Metallica today are the same guys that made 'Master Of Puppets?' This is the best album this band has to offer. HANDS DOWN!

From: holy metal Date: September 5, 2004 at 4:45
The best album of metallica orion is an amazing work of them; also the complete album, Master of Puppets rules!!!

From: Metalhead66 Date: November 8, 2004 at 12:51
Damn,This is almost Perfect! What the hell happend,as they now Suck...sorry but it's true ! At one time NO METAL BAND had the ideas that they were coming up with Except Slayer and Megadeth..Alas we must look elsewhere for good Metal cause Metallica lost it.Megadeth and Slayer still have it though!!!9.5/10

From: GLAM FAN Date: April 18, 2005 at 6:49
Metallica should be applauded because they manage to sell miilion copies of this album and reach the billboard chart dispite a zero airplay from mtv. Respect man. That said, this album is a classic-songs like battery, damage inc and the title track are insanely good. Even lesser known tracks like disposable heroes and orion are kick ass song. A little less heavier than ride the lightning but better, this album is a must have for metal fans, espeiallt thrash fans.

From: GLAM FAN Date: April 18, 2005 at 6:54
IN my opinion, the greatest thrash/speed metal album of all time, with all due respect to anthrax's among the living, slayer's reign in blood, venom's welcome to hell and of cuorse, megadeth's peace sells. Buy this album or you are a poseur

From: Date: September 6, 2005 at 13:33

NADA MAS. TODO METALERO TIENE QUE TENER ESTE PEDAZO DE HISTORIA. 1000000/10

From: pie75 Date: September 7, 2010 at 9:22
metallica's second best album i thought ride the lightning had everything this close though love battery, welcome home(sanatarium),lepper massiah, damage inc but the song master of puppets is the best song and just brilliant kirks solo when they bring the music back in on that song is what makes it and gets me every time what a great album

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 4, 2017 at 13:59
A particular moment lived here as this was Burton's last recording effort with the band before his tragic death...tracks 1,2 & 4 are in my book of music.85/100
