The straight world didn't know what to make of White Zombie in 1992, and so this record stalled after only a few months of limited airplay. And then Beavis And Butt-Head came along and championed the band, and things took off. This is modern metal (by the standards of the day) with grooves for days, cool riffs, harsh but not deathy vocals, and an obsession with horror-movie gore and cheese. The lead single, "Thunder Kiss '65," is of course, one of those timeless metal anthems that get the blood pumping no matter how old it is or you are. Other highlights are "Welcome To The Lpanet Motherfucker," "Black Sunshine," "Grindhouse A-Go-Go," "Starface," and really every other track except for the three throwaway interludes.

Dancing metal music in here, maybe not suitable for everyone but IMHO pretty at the same time..."Welcome To Planet..." & "Thunderkiss '65" are the best cuts as also they were the hit singles of the album,"Black Sunshine" is a good one too...tracks 10,12 & 13 are other fine moments...this was the beginning of the stardom for Rob Zombie...85/100
