Tragically overlooked album from an otherwise forgotten Blaze Bayley back when a reformed Maiden hit with Brave New World. And no lie, song for song Silicon Messiah matched the brilliance of Brave New World, very nearly bettering it! Such a shame the majority ignored this as Silicon Messiah was that good a record (also raising the question why the heck Harris & co didn't allow/direct such a great vocal from Blaze during his Maiden tenure, sounding comfortably within his ability here. The anthem-like Ghost In The Machine opens superbly & was one of the best songs of the year \m/ Couple Maiden-like tunes come in The Brave & The Launch (another personal fave) yet mostly Silicon Messiah forges new metal-to-the-head territory for Blaze such as the title track, Identity, The Hunger & more. Production through packaging all A1, the brilliant Stare At The Sun closes what now stands as one of the best records of Blaze's career (thankfully since equaled by TheManWWND & Promise&Terror) Rating 9
