| After the somewhat disappointing Fate Of Norns, Amon Amarth came storming back in '06, with Oden on their side for sure. The songs just grab you by the ear like an angry Swedish schoolteacher. The band sounds like a Norse army marching victoriously home after thrashing the piss out of some Celts or whoever else those cats fought in those days. This is just one of those discs that never fails to pump me up. Highlights are "Valhall Awaits Me," "Runes TO My Memory," "Cry Of The Black Birds," "Under The Northern Star" (both with coool, interweaving guitar melodies), and the title track.
