The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Brutal Metal
as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live
compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official
CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Immortal are also welcome to be added, as
long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

| Damned In Black is often overlooked in the Immortal discography, sandwiched as it is between two towering opuses like At The Heart Of Winter and Sons Of Northern Darkness. This comparatively brief disc is also the thrashiest and grooviest of the bunch, though the sound is still firmly Immortal. They would bring back some of the grandiosity on the following release, while retaining much of the headbanging energy heard here. Production is crystal-clear, which I enjoy (you can actually hear the drums and even the bass!), yet still with the band's trademark ice-cold tones. Best tracks for me include "Triumph," "Wrath From Above," "The Cold That Embraces Me" and the title track. If you've only dabbled in Immortal's grim and frostbitten world and maybe passed over this record, absolutely check it out!
