this is the fuckin best cd of the whole world! korn are the best!

From: GABO Date: June 24, 2003 at 23:17
I don't Know why you put all this shit (Slipknot, Korn, System of a Down, Mudvayne, Tool, etc.) in a true metal site. Fuck all the MTV rock.

From: jason (FA-Q) Date: June 30, 2003 at 19:39
KoRn4EveR, you're an idiot. This is nothing but shit. Come talk to me in another year and a half, and tell me where this band is. I'll tell ya right now! THE TOILET!!

From: 100% COOL Date: August 7, 2003 at 14:23
KoRn = GREAT !!!

From: JB Date: September 7, 2003 at 22:59
I agree with GABO why are Korn, System of a Korn, Mudvayne-Korn and Tool-Korn even on this site. Crappy vocals, shitty guitar play, and not one of these groups would know a melody if it flew up their ass.

From: screw you all Date: October 6, 2003 at 9:30
fellas, fellas, fellas. you seem to be forgetting that some ppl have different tastes in music to others. i think that KoRn's music is great myself, but i happen to respect other ppls taste in music and not cuss them for it. i think this is a great album. my fav songs on it are blind, need to, divine, faget and and daddy. btw, my fav bands are: pantera, slipknot, iron maiden, black sabbath, sepultura, white zombie and KoRn. i also like ozzy osbourne's and rob zombie's solo shit as well.

From: 4th Horseman Date: October 11, 2003 at 4:44
Korn??? While I agree with 'screw you all' (above) that different people have different tastes in music, I must add that the band Korn is not quite what would pop into a metalhead's mind when s/he visits a website titled 'Brutal Metal'. My question to the Brutal Metal moderators here is why don't you have Linkin Park on your website? Or for that matter Britney Spears! I think I heard a guitar string being pulled in one of her songs.

From: live of korn Date: October 19, 2003 at 10:16
korn is the best is very cool music i love you korn

From: Date: November 16, 2003 at 13:42
The Nu metal fathers are Korn, they are great!!!! NU metal is good, who hate nu metal are asocial people, eat shit men! this CD is wonderful, the best of Korn

From: Chacho Date: November 23, 2003 at 2:48
Oh and by the way, Tool CAN churn out a great melody... try listening to maybe a song or two before you post retarded comments like that, you dumb poser.

From: Luke Date: January 30, 2004 at 23:43
SOAD/Tool/Mudvayne = good music, not nu metal... Linkin Park/LimpBzkit/Korn = rock wannabe music for kids who don't want to tidy their bedrooms... (--,) thinks antisocial people hate numetal - I've news for you... People with decent taste in rock music hate nu-metal, it goes against everything that is good and just in our music - Whingy lyrics and on-tone guitars playing one riff - DJ's and drummers playing hip-hop beats - THE SAME hip hop beat... This isn't metal, it's shit.

From: Luke Date: January 30, 2004 at 23:44
That should've been one-tone guitars... Guitars playing riffs in only one tone...

From: who? Date: February 9, 2004 at 3:51
Comparing Tool to any Nu-Metal band is just completely ridiculous. Listen to their music, and if you have any ear for complexity in structure and drumming, good vocals, etc, you will hear that Tool is a LOT more than just some numetal band.

From: tots Date: February 12, 2004 at 3:30
korn is the best, nobody can defeat them..korn solid

From: an't telling Date: April 13, 2004 at 14:22

Nu-metal is crap and always will. This album is not as half as good as any glam/sleaze metal album of the 80's.

From: Blue Charvel Date: June 3, 2004 at 12:19
hey jack, I thought you were a 'Cinderella Fan'... Additionally, as much as I hate Korn, comparing them to glam/sleaze doesn't make a hint of sense, as they are most decidedly Nu Metal. Please don't start your genre-leaping comments here too...

From: Firechicken Date: June 10, 2004 at 14:22
These fine men play in Slabodovia (were I live!) and they are for sur to be much beter than Motley Cru or Nitro. Pluss thay R much better looking (no mak-up).

From: slayerized Date: June 20, 2004 at 18:37
korn fuckin sucks compared to SLAYER!maby u people think korn rocks now because all u listen to is korn....well..guess what.....there are way better bands!!try buying an excellent bands CD 4 change, such as a maby...SLAYER!slayer is the fuckin king of all the metal bands ,korn shouldnt even be considered metal. Also, korns music is so slow and basic, where as SLAYERs music is incredibally fast, thrashy, violent, and destructively sickly in a good way.that is true metal.

From: jack Date: June 22, 2004 at 5:52
i salute you slayerrized! korn is nothing compared to slayer, megadeth or metallica. They are even worse than nirvana!

From: Firechicken Date: June 30, 2004 at 12:54
I have meny troubles lisening to Slayer ever since buckethead joins them. They cover of nights in whit satan is not good either. That is why I listen to KorN, they are full of much partey rockin beats and much hevier than sLayer.

From: danno Date: July 14, 2004 at 16:13
god, heavier than slayer - i cringe at the thought - in metal, heaviness comes rom the inside, not just from tuning guitars horrendously low lets sort his out - if you into troo metal, you'v obviously already waded through the korn bullshit. if not, you have a choice - you can buy korn, you may like it a bit, since you've haven't heard oyther great metal bands, or you can go for some real metal, and even though it may be harder to get a hold of, you can gain so much more

From: jack Date: July 19, 2004 at 5:33
korn heavier than slayer? thats like addressing britney spears heavier than britny fox!

From: Metal Head Date: September 6, 2004 at 3:28
What the F**k are Korn doing in Brutal metal?!! These guys arent rap metal (nu metal in fact) and they suck arse!! Korn fans, listin to some REAL metal, not this fake shit wannabe music. From: Supernaut Date: September 20, 2004 at 14:17

From: Halleeeerrrrrr! Date: October 7, 2004 at 7:56
to be honest as a kid I started young at metal with korn... its the only thing that I could hear from my neighbors house... I probably bought almost all of their albums and pretty much got satisfied... but later as my field of interest in rock grew... korn sounded lame to my ears... now their as lame as ever... please help me out in my rock rehab...

From: theultimatum1 Date: October 20, 2004 at 14:58
Well, they started out good, then what happened. Everything after this CD sucks!!! Well, at least they gave us this one good CD before they spiraled headlong into suckiness!!!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: August 6, 2013 at 19:34
Give korn credit for at least doing something new. Their roots can be traced back to Faith No More and the Chili Peppers, with a bit of Biohazard and Prong thrown in ... but no further back than that. And in '94, nothing sounded quite like Korn did. That doesn't make it good, and this album isn't all that great. Some cool grooves get established on songs like "Ball Tongue," but the negatives outweigh the positives with this band. The use of seven-string guitars was interesting at the time, yet neither of the two guitarists really do much with them, as all the riffs are very simplistic. THe bass sound is very rattly and clicky, with no real bottom-end to it, and the drum-sound reminds me of a toy I used to have a kid callled "Hit Stix." And then there's Jonathan Davis. The guy's voiice is absolutely terrible. Yelling like a 14-year-old in a tantrum is bad enough, but his attempts at acutl singing are even worse. Lyrics? Nursery rhymes and singing about being picked on in school didn't i

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: August 6, 2013 at 20:02
... didn't interest me even when I WAS in high school, and hearing a metal album end with the lead singer breaking down in blubbery tears is just plain embarrassing.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: November 22, 2022 at 16:01
I always enjoyed the rhythmic nature of Korn (and nu-metal in general, for the most part). But as a child of late-stage hair-metal, I couldn't get behind what we all called "crybaby bullshit." Even though I was squarely in Korn's target demographic, I don't think I was ready for them. I still thought of metal as a fantasy and an escape (if I thought about it at all), and Korn's hyper-real themes did not really resonate with me. I had my problems for sure as a teenager, but didn't want to hear about the dreary, everyday dysfunction that was the reality for so many people. I wasn't molested, my parents were together and relatively happy, and I wasn't actively bullied at school. I couldn't always relate, and didn't always try. Anyway, it's damn near impossible to separate Korn's music from their subject matter, and there really weren't any bands in metal that dealt with those topics so nakedly in 1994. Korn broke a lot of ground, musically and thematically.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: November 22, 2022 at 16:07
Before them, seven-string guitars were mostly a tool of the super-shredder, but Munky and Head used them in an entirely different way that was completely foreign to someone who cut their teeth on hair bands and thrash. And that tight, airless production seemed alien to someone used to the booming sounds of the '80's. In hindsight, and with hopefully some wisdom, I can see Korn's debut as a pretty good album, although it didn't have the impact on my life that it did for many other people.
