This c.d. is badass. Way better than most of the dumbass shit these pussy commies come out with. Before you go and praise SOAD for Toxicity (damn fine album) listen to the original. It's twice as good as the second! Over and out

From: metallicafan Date: April 27, 2002 at 11:46
system of a down are one of the few so-called 'nu metal' bands that actually do something interesting. bands like linkin park and drowning pool are just fucking boring and wont ever last. system of a downs first album proves how interesting nu metal can get. the bands styles range from jazz, metal, nu metal and even a hint of grindcore (just a hint guys) in some of the songs. fantastic

From: da dawg Date: April 29, 2002 at 1:14
SOAD is, all in all one of the best bands today. system has a unique sound which combines different types of music like heavy metal, tribal rhythms, and folklore. If u havent bought either of their cd's, GO OUT AND BUY THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Damien Date: September 11, 2002 at 10:49
A little better then their new album but still a sad excuse for music. Don't buy it. You'll be dissapointed. On a 1 to 10 scale Damien gives System Of A Down a big fat two! Try harder guys.

This is ONE GOOD FUCKING ALBUM !!!! i thought Toxicity was good, until i heard this one. The blend of music is perfect, the lyrics are thought-provoking,and the riffs are bad-ass. It's good to finally hear what nu-metal should sound like. it's actually worth my 13 dollars

From: Who cares? Date: December 16, 2002 at 9:38
Wow, I'm surprised. Only one basher has posted here. AMAZING! Let's hope it stays that way, eh?

From: darkfirelord Date: April 16, 2003 at 19:32
i really like system of a down but toxicity sucked, i knew about them before all you fuckers and have always loved em. All i have to say about this cd is that you wont be dissapointed if you get it, and i agree with every word they say on this cd

From: Anon Date: May 9, 2003 at 3:28
darkfirelord, do you want a badge or something? Grow up. This is an excellent album, and yes it is a little better than toxicity. Faster, and much more unpredictable than their later albums, this is one of my all time favourites.

From: SiNMaN Date: June 6, 2003 at 6:56
DarkFireLord its not about who listens to whatever music first but its about what music you listen to at the end. This band is 1 of its kind with an album full of hit singles that got them doing tours in Japan and got them a slot in the Ozzfest. This band cant be overlooked, great riffs great music. You feel the vocalist Serj can range from a high pitched voice without sounding annoying to grunts you would hear in death metal. Lyrics are somewhat silly sometimes other than that top notch. 8.5/10

From: Josh McGuire Date: August 8, 2003 at 15:51
System Of A Down' self-titled sounds more Punk, more Thrash, and more Metal this is a good FUCKING record

From: jimmy walden Date: September 23, 2003 at 12:49
ok pete a few weks ago started talkin crap about mtv bands.NOFX is a PUNK band as w/sum others he mentioned. This a METAL website.and besides NOFX aint even on mtv they hate mtv.And just cuz a band is famous or on mtv doesn't mean that they are posers.especially evanescence.they just play genuine music, thet are good.i will listen to them one minit and listen to slayer and meshuggah.

From: the anarchist Date: February 12, 2004 at 12:57
only one word: they're armenians...i think that is enough, unique style from the middle east, totally original, try The Apex Theory and Amen as well...

From: Mitch Date: February 14, 2004 at 8:42
I am just wondering if bashers wake up in the morning and think to themselves "oh, i think i will go bash system of a down" what a bunch of fucking morons...

From: pantera Date: July 3, 2004 at 13:29

From: Date: September 20, 2004 at 14:22
Get some real metal ok? like Iron Maiden,Megadeth,Metallica,Ozzy,Black Sabbath,Judas Priest or something for god's sakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Dani Filth Date: October 9, 2004 at 11:14
Not bad at all. No offence, guys, but I wouldnt call the majority of it metal, though. Its still excellent music.

From: Supernaut Date: June 14, 2005 at 22:42
Definitely not nu-metal...great album! I don't like it as much as Toxicity, but it's my second pick. The two newest ones blew!

From: starvin marvin Date: July 3, 2005 at 16:13
