Pittsburgh's Icarus Witch have gone through a lot of lineup and style changes over the years, but are best known as a meat-and-potatoes American power-metal band. That's the sound you get on Songs For The Lost. I hear a lot of Metal Church (Mike Howe and Ronny Munro eras), and maybe bands like Leatherwolf. Too heavy to be pop-metal, yet generally tooo slow to be thrash. The production is crisp and modern, but the music is pretty '80's. This is the sort of band who doesn't find anything cheesy about doing a song based on an Edgar Allan Poe story. "Mirror Mirror" is a Def Leppard cover (ever notice how few of those there are?). This is a perfectly adequate band and CD, but I can't say a lot of it stuck with me.
